We share the vision of an enduring company that continues to grow and evolve over time to not only to significantly add to shareholder value, but to add value to the community and environment of which we are all stewards. 

We have all enjoyed successes, and we have endured difficulties and challenges as well. Our expertise is hard won through economic and life storms that, along with the successes, provide insight for our decisions in the future.  

Kenneth A. DeVeau, Founder and CEO

Kenneth DeVeau is the management team leader and oversees home office operations, and is in charge of business development. 

He has 24 years of experience managing multiple functional departments as the Business Manager of the post-secondary Sarasota County Technical Institute. His mission there was to improve operations with new processes and technology as well as manage and supervise the financial operations of the school. His final project was the multi-year transformation of the operating culture of the school from a disjointed paper based system to a fully integrated central data base system.  

Prior to founding Rising Industries, investing personal retirement funds, he started (and still operates) Format Cash Flow, (formatcashflow.com) a micro-financing company targeting very small businesses. As a business development consultant as well as financier, he helps his clients adapt their business processes to improve the quality of their service, cash flow management, and profitability.  His financial solutions and operational support have been crucial to his clients surviving the recession and their transformation from imminent dissolution to stability and growth. He facilitated and financed the transfer of ownership of a business and helped finance the company through periods of growth. This experience has provided insight into the challenges of very small companies as well as the understanding of the potential return on investment that originates at this level, as well as the social benefit of growing a very small business into a larger company.  

Ken lived overseas for 11 years; one year in Iceland, and a combined ten years with his wife in Colombia, Guatemala, and Chile, where he was a math teacher in international high schools, as well as Sales Manager for an international household goods moving company. These experiences honed his adaptability to different environments and challenging situations.

He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and holds a MS in Mathematics from Ohio University and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. All three of his children have at least one Masters Degree and are working in field.  He is a long time Church Treasurer and member of the church board, an 11 year youth soccer coach, youth theater director, and member of the International Factoring Association.  




Terry L. Jackson, Chief Operations Officer
Terry Jackson is currently on assignment and contracted as General Manager of the targeted acquisitions for Rising Industries. Since beginning there in late 2009, he turned a small “mom and pop” equipment fabricating company with no sales force or infrastructure into a solutions provider that is well recognized in the industry, with a national sales force and strategic partnerships in new virgin markets in critical infrastructure sectors that have the company poised for rapid sales growth.  


After graduating from Taylor University, Terry was hired by Avis Industrial Corp., a manufacturing holding company with 20 subsidiaries and 4000 employees, as the youngest VP in company history. He worked directly with the Owner / Chairman of the Board and preformed many special and varied projects including; Acquisition Analysis, Product Line Acquisitions, Plant Closings & Liquidations, Plant Mergers, Labor Negotiations and Product Liability Coordination.  He established a Self-Insured Product Liability Reserve Fund, and Set-up a company wide Self-Insured Health plan and Self-Insured Workers Compensation Plan. He represented the corporation for upper management take-outs, and for other special projects as directed by the Board of Directors.   


He was President of J.M. Stewart, a national sales and marketing company specializing in sign products for churches & schools. In two years he transformed built the company from 12 employees to 45 and quadrupled revenues without any capital infusion or new debt. During his five year tenure he also redesigned the product line, negotiated new manufacturing contracts, hired and trained a National Sales Manager, and created a major National Endorsement Program that utilized strong affinity relationships.


As Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Christian Purchasing Network, a start-up sales and marketing company servicing the national church market, he built a national sales force, developed product lines, designed a proprietary chair line, negotiated vendor contracts, created and managed all marketing and advertising campaigns, and recruited and trained telesales, field sales and independent sales representatives, negotiated over 25 new vendor contracts, created a major National Endorsement Program that utilized strong affinity relationships, and established all sales compensation and incentives.


As Owner and President of Innovative Signs, a National Marketing Company specializing in institutional sign products, he hired, trained and managed an in-house national sales force for a specialized B2B market, created and managed national advertising and marketing programs, and booked a contract with a national church denomination to replace the signage at all of its US and Canadian locations to facilitate a name change and re-branding process.  He also designed a proprietary aluminum extrusion for specialty sign products that was the strategic product for the company. In 2008, he sold the company to Florida Sign Company, where it remains as an intact branded division.  


Between stints, he was the Region Agent Manager, Senior Medicare Marketing Specialist for Universal Health Care of St. Petersburg, FL. He developed the number one territory in the state in less than one year by recruiting and training over 100 direct sales agents and independent sales representatives; training them in Seminar Selling and in Single Appointment Environments. Recruited physicians for the company network products to increase consumer desire for the product. Efforts also resulted in a Customer Retention Rate that was 50% higher than the state average.


Terry is a church Elder and Governing Board member, a former youth football coach and currently coaches and plays competitive softball.





Jack May, Chief Marketing Officer

Jack May has been the Director of Sales for Magee Sign Service, Inc. since 2004. Jack came to Magee after a nine year stint of developing the government, military, and special projects marketing and sales operations for J.M. Stewart and Hi-Tech Electronic Displays, Inc. In addition to company-wide product development and marketing/sales planning, he was responsible for developing sales in federal, state and local government markets, including the preparation of all technical government RFPs and RFQs, the acquisition and administration of all government contracts and price schedules, including Federal (GSA, AFNAFPO) and State (CA, FL), negotiation and maintenance of all product development sales and marketing tools. He created, managed, hired, trained and led the first-to-market Military Sales Division of J.M. Stewart to produce 30% of the company sales revenues with 10% of the sales assets.  He was the company representative to trade and professional organizations (American Logistics Assn., International Military Community Executives Assn., National Guard Assn. of the US, Florida National Guard Assn., Association of the United States Army). 

Prior to entering the sign industry, for 15 years he was the President/Managing General Partner of Interior Systems of Sarasota, Inc. and C&M Interior Systems, Inc. where he managed the daily administrative, marketing and sales operations of a $3MM per year commercial interior systems supply and Construction Company.  He wrote and prepared technical specifications for architectural boiler plates.  As the primary sales/project manager and superintendent, he oversaw all installation and construction projects and acted as a commercial and specifications consultant to numerous Nursing Homes and Banks.  Clientele included public (School Board, County, Municipal) and private sector commercial properties throughout Central Florida.

Initially, he partnered with a five location retail floor covering chain to sell to the commercial market, and developed an Interior Systems sales model and business plan to become the President of the spin-off company that provided complete turnkey commercial interior design packages.

Jack developed his skills in leadership, training, planning, and management largely through military experience.  He joined the US Army after high school, was later promoted to Staff Sergeant and soon graduated from Officer Candidate School. After eight years active duty, he transitioned to the Army National Guard, and retired 12 years later as a captain in the Field Artillery. Leadership roles included commanding sections, platoons, firing battery and headquarters/service battery sized units.  Staff assignments included artillery battalion logistics and intelligence officer as well as infantry battalion fire support officer. He developed several tactical/logistical operations in the field such as the “DSFA (Direct Support/Field Artillery) Log (Logistics) Raid” and fielded the first computers for the Field Artillery for tactical-logistics operations. He was the primary logistics officer for two major overseas deployments and commanded several deployments for training in direct support of the US Southern Command operations in Panama, Honduras and other Central American countries.  Decorations included the Army Commendation Medal for heroism.

Jack is a long term adult Bible study leader and Director of Sunday School and Family Groups.  He has authored several Bible study curricula and leadership seminars for adult church leaders in Southern Baptist Associations across the state of Florida.
